about

This song is about a car accident I was in back in November of '98 while driving on SR-520 west bound through the Arboretum in Seattle. The rain was blinding. I narrowly avoided hitting two other cars only moments before finally hitting a car the had already overturned and had come to rest in the middle of the highway. The vehicle was lying on it's drivers side so that I was looking at the top of the car. In the split second before I hit the car I could see through the other cars windshield. The driver was still inside and sitting on her door. She looked right at me. I barely swerved to left. just in time so that I would miss crashing into the roof or windshield of the car. Fortunately, I ended up hitting the hood of the car. The next thing I remember there was a paramedic sitting next to me asking me questions, so I must have blacked out for a few minutes. I can't bare to think what could have happened.

This was just 2 days after I got out of jail where I had been following a DUI arrest. Needless to say that was a very bad weekend. I'm not one to believe in a higher power or fate or things happening for a reason but this experience definitely put life and a lot things into perspective for me.

lyrics

Gyser shoots from street
I can't see the road oh oh oh oh no
rain's coming down like sheets
our fenders explode oh oh oh oh no

Arboretum Monday drive
death's been cheated on more time

Deaths flash in front of me
bloods running cold oh oh oh oh no
coming to I see your face
and manifold oh oh oh oh no

Arboretum Monday drive
deaths been cheated on more time
Arboretum Monday drive
late arival right on time

My prophesy had it coming to me
only 48 since I made bail
our children bleed from mental disease
oh how trivial our wants all seem
just serve our commited time
'till something smashes out our headlights
right, right on time.

Arboretum Monday drive
deaths been cheated on more time
Arboretum Monday drive
late arival right on time.....yeah!
